Welcome

SBLO is an acronym for Small Business Liaison Officer, SBLOs are employees of large businesses that perform Federal Government contracting. SBLO responsibilities include promoting Socioeconomic Programs (often referred to as Supplier Diversity), assisting purchasing personnel, contract compliance reporting, and interacting with Federal agencies.

What We Do

The Midwest SBLO Group is an organization of large businesses represented by their Small Business Liaison Officers (SBLOs) and other personnel, representatives from Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTACs), and representatives from Federal Government Agencies, such as the Small Business Administration (SBA). The Midwest SBLO Group promotes the proactive compliance in the performance of Federal Government contracting. The organization is a knowledge resource for parties new to Federal Government contracting and for skilled professionals to interact and share knowledge and experiences.

Our Meetings

Meetings include updates on current issues, the sharing of experiences, training sessions, and networking opportunities. Many topics are related to the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Most meetings include outreach session which involves presentations by small businesses.

MISSION

The mission of the Midwest SBLO Group is to educate through continuous sharing of best program practices via engagement of membership expertise, with representation across multiple industries; to collaborate with government agencies, business development centers, procurement technical assistance centers (PTACs) and small business liaison officers (SBLOs) on federal small business regulations/public laws; and to advocate through outreach; all of which will enable meeting/exceeding small business subcontracting plan goals and requirements.
